US Navy Defends the Peace

The declining range of the US Navy force projection along with the elimination of frigates has made defense of shipping lanes difficult. The focus on offensive capabilities while reducing the US Navy size from 600 to 285 ships since 1987 has created a vacuum of power in the world’s seas.

Nature abhors a vacuum and is in the process of filling it with the Chinese PLA Navy. The free world cannot survive domination of the seas by an organization that imprisons and tortures millions of it’s citizens in concentration camps. The US Navy needs to return to 1987 600+ ship counts and capabilities. It’s long past time for the US Navy to reimplement the lessons of the Pacific War and place defense of the seas as a priority.
